The Daily Grail Questionnaire with Watchbox's Viki Garcia

Part Proust, Part Vogue's 73 Questions, and Part Colbert Questionnaire, Viki Garcia, Client Advisor at Watchbox and Stylist, answers The Daily Grail Questionnaire.

What’s your favorite time of day?

There is nothing I love more than a slow and quiet morning! I never thought I’d become a morning person, but here we are. I’m usually up by 6 but I’ll stay in bed for about an hour to read, journal and catch up with my friends on the East Coast before starting my day.

Last meal: where, what, and with who?

My desk, Joan’s on 3rd’s highly addictive Chinese Chicken Salad with my colleagues.

What is your greatest extravagance?

All things cashmere! And one that feels like an extravagance but isn’t - going to the Rose Bowl & Long Beach flea markets almost every single month.

Song on repeat?

Right now, My Mistake - Canned Heat. Forever, No Buses- Arctic Monkeys.

What is your most treasured possession?

My Audemars Piguet Day-Date Moonphase (ref 25589BA). It was my grandfathers, lovingly passed down to me in his final days. Although he introduced me to watches at a very young age, this piece ignited my passion. It has been over a decade since his passing, which for me, was mostly spent looking at and learning more about watches. Ultimately, it gave me the confidence to switch industries after years of working in luxury fashion, changing the trajectory of my life from collector to advisor.

Best accessory?

Piqué! My (almost) 12 year old mini schnauzer. Piqué’s best accessory? His signature red bandana.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I have a memory box that I started when I was 10 years old. It’s filled with everything from old watches to concert tickets to knick knacks from places I’ve visited and loved. So, if you’ve ever written me a letter/card, hi, I probably still have it!

Best action movie?

I don’t really watch action movies! However, my favorite film is La Collectionneuse by Eric Rohmer. Set in the summer in the South of France, it follows 3 characters who are chasing their version of freedom. A stunning ingenue is deemed a “collector” of men by two older male housemates whom she has just met. The male leads inability to stand down from a moral high ground and the female leads playful mystique forces you inwards to examine your own morals.

Dream watch?

Right now, Vacheron Constantin 222. Forever, F.P Journe Chronomètre Holland & Holland.

What is your motto?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Style icon?

Too many to name! At the very top of my list, my grandparents, Jane Birkin, Ralph Lauren and ‘70s Cher.

What do you want to be remembered for?

In a professional capacity, making a difference in someones collecting journey. Outside of work, creating a safe space for those I love and care for.
